I’ve heard that spinach likes sandy soil? Is this true? What about Romaine and other types of lettuce? Thanks!!

In my experience this is true. Add sand – the type you can buy for kids’ sandpits. It is sterile, clean and will not contain unwanted guests. However, you should also add some nutrient like manure, compost or the likes and mix it in with the existing soil.
